Industrial Health
In the early 90s Thane was a hub of industrial activity, with a large number of companies and factories employing thousands of workers. GKH would be providing healthcare services to a large number of patients from these industries coming for the treatment of various medical conditions, ranging from accidental injuries, and trauma to various acute and chronic diseases, many of them due to occupational hazards. In order to help the workers detect these health conditions at the early stage and thus prevent escalation of health costs and medical complications Dr D G Pandit joined CLI - Central Labour Institute, Mumbai and completed AFIH, Associate Fellowship in Industrial Health. And thus in 1999 GKH expanded its scope of services and started providing occupational healthcare services in Thane and the neighbouring Raigad districts.
The employees working in the various industries were medically examined on site and various health awareness programmes were conducted in the industries. With various innovative ideas, continually adding new medical services, a robust IT backup GKH soon started creating new benchmarks in the field of occupational health. Dr D G Pandit was appointed as the ACS - Authorised Certifying Surgeon by the Dept of DISH - Directorate of Industrial safety and health , Ministry of Labour, Govt. of Maharashtra in the year 1999 and has since then been working closely with the dept.
